Program Description

Recently, industry has made great strides in the field of industrial maintenance, or mechatronics. It creates a synergy needed to create a simpler, efficient, and effective manufacturing system. As this automation increases, so does the need for qualified technicians.

According to O-Net, it is projected that employment needs through 2028 in the Commonwealth total an additional 5,250 employees. There are currently 518 individuals employed in Mechatronics in the North Central Workforce Development Area.

The necessity to understand and train support technicians often requires a retooling of incumbent employees and initial training of employees entering this field. NPRC understands this human capital gap and has made a commitment to provide this training to the region.
