Web Privacy Statement

Thank you for visiting the Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) website. This Web Privacy Statement generally describes the privacy practices for NPRC’s website and other associated webpages, including how the College collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data. By using the NPRC website, you are consenting to NPRC’s collection and use of information in accordance with this Web Privacy Statement.

Please note the NPRC website may contain links to other websites, which will have their own privacy practices. The College is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

Collection, Use, and Sharing of Information

NPRC does not require you to identify yourself while using our public webpages linked from https://regionalcollegepa.org. Unless you specifically input your personal information on our webpages, NPRC’s public webpages do not collect your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) – any information connected to a specific individual that can be used to uncover that individual’s identity, such as their social security number, driver’s license details, full name, or email address – but the College may automatically collect and store general information about you and your visit to our public webpages. This information does not identify you personally unless you choose to provide your personal information via online forms or email. The information collected is used to track how users interact with NPRC’s website, so the College can improve the user’s experience and make other improvements to the services and resources made available via NPRC’s website. In addition, anonymous information collected during your visit can be associated with you, if you choose to provide your personal information during your visit. The information collected includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • The IP address from which you access NPRC’s website,
  • The name of the domain from which you access the Internet,
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access the College’s website,
  • The date and time you access NPRC’s site,
  • The pages, files, documents, and links you visit and view,

The information collected automatically is stored and used in aggregate form only and is not used to contact you personally.
NPRC may share information with contracted external entities, third-party vendors, or service providers to provide services or resources to you on our behalf or, in limited circumstances, offer ads that may be of interest to you.

When you visit the NPRC website, NPRC may store some information on your computer in the form of a cookie. Google Analytics and Other Marketing Tools

NPRC uses Google Analytics, as well as other similar tools, as business needs arise, to help analyze how users interact with its websites and, in some cases, to provide users with more personalized content. As noted above, the third-party tools typically utilize cookies but may also use pixel gifs or beacons. The information generated by the cookie and/or beacons about your use of NPRC’s website is transmitted to these tools. This information is then used to evaluate visitors' use of the website and to compile statistical reports on activity for NPRC’s websites.

The College may use Google Analytics to aggregate and track non-identifiable visitor information for varying business purposes. Google Analytics also provides you with the ability to modify and delete the information that Google tracks for remarketing purposes by visiting Google's ad settings page. You can also disable collection of any demographic data on that page. To stop receiving marketing emails, you may click on the “Unsubscribe” link in any marketing email you receive from us. You can also email marketing@rrcnpa.org with the phrase “REMOVE FROM NEWSLETTER LIST” in the subject line. To provide services, we may continue to send transactional emails.

Information Protection

NPRC uses and maintains reasonable security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the formation under its control. Despite these safeguards, due to the inherent uncertainty in the use of the Internet and information systems, and the potential for unlawful attacks by third parties, we cannot guarantee that the use of our systems or websites will be completely safe or secure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is one hundred percent secure.

Information collected and used may be transferred, stored and accessed globally to support our operations. The College retains information for as long as it is needed or useful to provide and improve our services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
