Are you looking to elevate your culinary skills? Do you have an employee who needs to be ServSafe Certified? NPRC’s Culinary Boot Camps offer varying levels of training in the Culinary Arts. The Level I Boot Camp offers training in basic culinary skills, including training and testing for ServSafe Certification. The Level II Boot Camp expands beyond basic culinary skills, including cooking and baking techniques.
These programs were made made possible because of the generosity and commitment from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development, Community and Economic Assistance Program, The Fund for Northern Tier Development, Kecks Food Service, Charles Knox & Margaret Etner Foundation, and the Ernest L. Culinary Boot Camps
What You'll Learn

Introductory culinary skills, including use of kitchen equipment, basic cooking techniques, vegetable preparation, safe food handling procedures, and personal hygiene practices.

Common baking and cooking skills, including the preparation of stocks, emulsion sauces, pizza baking, sautéing, grilling, and plate presentations.

Teamwork and professionalism as it relates to culinary and kitchen operations.

ServSafe for Managers examination and training preperation.

Business Work-Ready Skillsets
These skill sets prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce or advancement in their current careers. At the time of application, students interested in one or more of these skill sets without earning a degree should select the "personal enrichment" student type. These programs require the completion of three academic courses, and students will receive documentation of successful completion on academic transcripts. Upon successful completion, these skill sets may also be applied to associate degree requirements in their respective fields.

Business Administration
This program establishes foundational business knowledge, skills, and abilities for increased marketability. Students have the opportunity to select between two specializations: General Business or Business Information Systems. General business courses are designed to go beyond the foundational level of information, while the business information systems track equips students with skills in technology, data, and information systems.

Supervisory Fundamentals
This program explores the fundamentals of supervision including roles and responsibilities, communication skills, building collaborative relationships, and contemporary leadership practices. NPRC's team takes students through a course designed to educate an introduction of supervisory roles and functions in today's workforce with activities that include exercises that will guide students through examining supervisor's roles, the importance of effective communication, and ways to improve collaboration in the workplace.
