Program Description
Having a trained and prepared team in times of emergency can make a difference in stressful or high-risk situations. The Emergency Planning and Response course promotes comprehensive plans to enhance the safety of local organizations. This course is led by a collection of highly trained, industry-leading professionals to prepare community members to respond in the case of an active shooter emergency and mitigate risks before an incident occurs. Leaders in all areas of business and industry are encouraged to attend.
The upcoming course will cover Fire Investigation Training for Pennsylvania Fire and Law Enforcement. A session will be held in Warren, PA from September 27–28.

What You'll Learn

The necessary protocols, effective communication, and an Emergency Labeling System (ELS) to standardized locations and communications for responding agencies.

Behavioral and mental health analysis procedures to identify potential threats.

Comprehensive analysis of policies, procedures, and physical characteristics of buildings to be prepared to complete a risk vulnerability assessment of an attendee’s respective facility and harden it against a potential active assailant.

How to complete an All-Hazards Plan to address all possible threats to a respective facility and include protocols for the prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery phases for each potential hazard.

EMR
The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) class is the first level of EMS Certification and is widely used in fire departments, police departments, manufacturing, and industry. Students will receive training in the initial management of situations, including personal safety, scene safety, patient assessment, Basic Life Support (CPR/AED), and initial stabilization for medical and trauma patients until help arrives. This class will prepare students for EMR Certification with the Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of EMS and result in a certificate from the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT).

First Aid + CPR
NPRC’s CPR/AED/First Aid class teaches students everything they need to know to deal with an emergency calmly and confidently until first responders arrive. This course will teach learners basic first aid for injury, environmental, and medical emergencies, appropriate application and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), response to adult and pediatric choking, and adult and pediatric CPR. This course can be customized for a business as well.

EMS Continuing Education
NPRC is an approved EMS continuing education provider with the Pennsylvania Department of Health for clinical patient care, emergency vehicle operations, and other- non-clinical areas. The National Registry accepts this state-approved education. NPRC can customize continuing education courses to fit your organization's needs.
