NPRC to Take Part in Erie Gives and Crawford Gives Again This Summer

Erie & Crawford Gives

Erie Gives and Crawford Gives are both incredible fundraising events that NPRC is excited to be a part of again for the third straight year. Erie Gives will take place on Tuesday, August 9, while Crawford Gives is set for Monday, August 29 through Tuesday, August 30. Each event helps their respective community come together to support local, non-profit organizations that help meet the needs of the local area. For NPRC, this is an opportunity we use to help provide affordable and accessible education to residents of northern Pennsylvania.

Northern Pennsylvania Regional College’s focus remains on keeping costs low for students, while many of our region’s learners may find it difficult to finance a college education. Through events like Erie Gives and Crawford Gives, community members can aid a young person trying to better their life, a working parent trying to provide a better life for their family, or any individual looking to increase their skill set at their current job. Whatever a student’s background or situation may be, we are here to support them. We hope many will consider doing their part to assist in achieving our mission.

The funds raised through these events can be used in a multitude of ways, including providing scholarships for students, purchasing technology tools like laptops, and expanding our reach through additional classroom locations and instructional spaces.

Erie Gives

Erie Gives 2022 will take place on Tuesday, August 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. During the 12-hour time slot, individuals will have the opportunity to donate online using Visa, MasterCard, and Discover credit cards. Donations must be a minimum of $25.00, but there is no limit to the number of organizations someone can donate to during a transaction. Prior to the event, checks are also accepted and can be mailed or delivered to The Erie Community Foundation located at 459 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16507. All checks must be accompanied by a Check Donation Form and must be delivered to The Erie Community Foundation no later than Monday, August 8, 2022. NPRC and other non-profits will receive a prorated match from The Erie Community Foundation and Erie Gives sponsors to enhance the gifts they receive at the conclusion of the event

NPRC’s influence in Erie County continues to grow as the county is now home to five instructional sites, including the recently opened Education and Training Center on West Ridge Road that offers several academic and workforce development options for regional residents.

Crawford Gives

The Crawford Heritage Community Foundation’s annual Crawford Gives event will take place from Monday, August 29 through Tuesday, August 30. For 48 hours, businesses and individuals will be able to donate to local non-profits using cash, checks, or credit cards. Check Contribution Forms must accompany cash and check donations. These donations will be accepted prior to the event and in-person or through the mail until Tuesday, August 30. These contributions can be dropped off at 415 Chestnut Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or mailed to PO BOX 933, Meadville, PA 16335. Checks can be made payable to the Crawford Heritage Community Foundation. To donate by credit card, individuals will have the 48-hour window to donate any dollar amount they choose to each participating non-profit. NPRC has offered courses at various locations in Crawford County over the last five years, including the Education and Training Hub at the University of Pitt-Titusville, with plans to add an additional instructional location in the county this year.

Some may be wondering how much impact their donation can make for an NPRC student. Donations in the $25.00 to $50.00 range can help pay for students’ software and course material expenses for one class. The $50.00 to $100.00 range assists in the cost of a textbook for one class. For around $100.00, a donation can help supply a calculator for students’ math and science courses. The range of $125.00 to $300.00 can provide a classroom of students with an early childhood education or science lab kit for the entire term. A scholarship for a three-credit class can be achieved with a donation of $550.00. A donation that can go even farther than one semester is the purchase of a brand-new laptop for a student, a cost of around $700.00.

No matter the size of your donation, everyone is helping to make a difference for someone who is taking steps to change their life and brighten their future. We hope you will be able to make a difference this summer to support your favorite local non-profits, including Northern Pennsylvania Regional College.
