NPRC has touted substantial growth over the last several years through expansion of its programming and staffing. But there is still room to grow and for more progress to be made. Our institution is categorized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a characteristic that qualifies the institution for philanthropic drives such as those that take place on GivingTuesday. This day is a global generosity day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to pay it forward on Tuesday, December 3, and throughout the year.
GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 as a simple idea; a day that encourages people to do good in the world. Over the past decade, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
People demonstrate generosity in many ways. Whether it is helping a neighbor or stranger with a task, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes that mean a lot to us. Every act of generosity matters. This movement has raised billions of dollars for critical causes around the world and gained immeasurable support on social media from people and organizations speaking out for the purposes that matter to them.
Something that matters to many is seeing the people in their life succeed. At NPRC, our priority is not just the success of our students in the classroom. It is to also prepare them for success outside of the learning environment and lead them to prosperous careers that foster economic growth throughout the region we serve and beyond. Our team educates, inspires, and serves our 10-county region in a way that’s unique to its needs. Brighter futures truly begin when people feel supported in a multitude of ways through favorable student to faculty ratios, individualized student advisors, and affordable degrees and workforce development training.
While loans are one way to finance a journey through higher education, our institution makes it a goal that students graduate or complete their training course with little to no debt. This becomes a reality when those who are willing and able to donate towards someone’s future invest in a way that supports the needs of our students.
“We hope you will consider a donation to NPRC’s scholarship fund and understand the impact that you can make,” says NPRC President Susie Snelick. “Many of our students are non-traditional learners who are balancing a family, job, and their education. We also help guide many students who are the first-generation college students and that are navigating what they hope to become a new normal for their family. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated and will ensure their success as learners at NPRC as well as posterity for the region we all care so deeply about in northcentral and northwestern Pennsylvania. Thank you to everyone who considers making a difference for our communities and the learners here at NPRC.”
