Northern Pennsylvania Regional College’s Board of Trustees welcomed Heather Evans to fill the fourteenth seat following the conclusion of the June meeting. Evans is a native of Erie County and has been a business professional for 30 years.

Evans currently serves as the Human Resource Manager at Port Erie Plastics in suburban Erie and has been in her current role since December 2016. In her current position, she’s responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all human resource activities and staff of the organization. Prior to her time at Port Erie Plastics, Evans enjoyed a long tenure at AirBorn Lake City (CARON Enterprises, Inc.) in Lake City, Pennsylvania from 1993 to 2016. Here, she successfully advanced from an administrative assistant to corporate human resource director at the end of her time at the company.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, a Master of Business Administration from Gannon University, a Professional in Human Resources credential (PHR), and a Society for Human Resources Professionals Certified Professional distinction (SHRM). She is also a former instructor at Mercyhurst University and taught a Human Resources and Marketing course at the former West campus in Girard.

Professionally, she is a Human Resource Roundtable Member at the Manufacturer’s Association and serves as the Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Autism Society for northwestern Pennsylvania. When asked about joining NPRC’s Board of Trustees, she noted, “Something I have always been passionate about is education. I like that NPRC is doing their part to help the Erie County community grow; the community that I’m from and live in. I’m excited that NPRC takes time to understand what the region needs and is designing programs around that. I’m really looking forward to this opportunity.”

NPRC board Chairperson Kate Brock shares, “Heather has been an active voice in Erie and the surrounding communities when it comes to the training and education needs of employers. We are excited to add that voice and her experience to the NPRC Board of Trustees.”
