Christine Schroll Awarded Scholarship by Rotary Club of Warren

Christine Schroll

NPRC early childhood education student Christine Schroll was recently awarded a scholarship from the Rotary Club of Warren to aid in her educational journey. The award was accepted by Schroll at a recent luncheon hosted by the club.

The organization recently began awarding academic scholarships to Warren County students who are pursuing college or trade programs at Northern Pennsylvania Regional College. The selection criteria for recipients is based on financial need and demonstrated passion for service. Applicants were chosen based on their submission of short biographies about their lives and service to Warren County.

Schroll is a working mom balancing part-time work in the food service industry, operating a small crafting business, raising her family, and attending courses at NPRC to eventually earn a degree in early childhood education. Her crafting business named Skittlez Creations is not just one of her biggest passions, but it’s an additional way for her to provide for her family. She recently completed a course at NPRC in creative expressive arts for children and admits it’s one of the courses she’s enjoyed most on the way to her degree.

Receiving this scholarship plays a pivotal role in being able to afford the associated costs of being a college student. “My college education is very important to me,” she said. “I’ve had many struggles, but I continue to strive and keep my head up the best I can. This scholarship has meant so much to me as someone who has had struggles in her educational journey. It’s given me the financial opportunity to continue taking classes throughout 2024 and help me reach my goal of one day becoming a preschool teacher. It’s very important to me to make a difference in children’s lives and I can’t wait for that to happen someday. I will continue to work hard and can’t wait to accomplish that feeling of graduating college one day.”

Rotary Club of Warren Secretary, Ruby Stone, shared a message of support and appreciation for Schroll as she continues to work towards her associate degree. Stone shares, “I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to Christine on being awarded a Rotary Scholarship. This is a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding achievements and commitment to community service. We believe that Christine’s academic and personal growth will only continue to flourish as she pursues her education, and this scholarship will undoubtedly help in her journey. Rotary International is known for its commitment to ‘Service Above Self,’ and Christine’s values and goals align perfectly with this mission. Her involvement in community service projects and contributions to the betterment of society have not gone unnoticed, and we look forward to witnessing the positive impact she will continue to make in the future.”
