Program Description

Gain the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the construction industry.

The construction industry continues to grow and anticipates over 723,000 open roles per year through 2031. Nearly 253,000 of these positions are expected to be newly created positions (bls.gov). Individuals with entry-level skills in one of many constructions trades can work with employers in the construction industry or become entrepreneurs by starting their own company.

Understanding the increasing demand for training in construction trades, our courses introduce the entry-level skills necessary to begin a successful career.

Each course is a pre-certification experience and addresses the industry safety and regulatory standards, including OSHA, that will help students be prepared for nationally recognized examinations and procedures.

Following successful completion of these trainings, students will be prepared to work in construction, general contracting, manufacturing, or real estate industries.

Course: HVAC Technician

Course Description: The increasing development of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems technology creates a number of employment opportunities in this long-standing trade poised for even more growth in the coming years. An HVAC technician installs, maintains, and repairs heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Professionals who work in this occupation might specialize in installation or in maintenance and repair. Some technicians concentrate on only on type of system, either heating, air conditioning, or refrigeration, while others offer a broader range of services. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills including an understanding of the heating, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation industry, and demonstrates elements of the principles of technology and health, safety, and environmental issues. Learners should obtain EPA certification prior to leaving school to be employed in any job that requires work with refrigerants. Instruction includes a combination of classroom theory and practical experience. After completing this program, learners will have the opportunity to take the leading national/industry-recognized certification exam essential to entry-level employment in this fast-growing field, including Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Technician Certification. Must be 18 years or older to enroll.

Course: Electrical Technician

Course Description:  Electrical technicians assemble, install, test, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and equipment. They work in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, research, and electronics, and using their knowledge of blueprint reading to work on electrical systems. Electrical technicians may work in the construction, maintenance, and manufacturing industries and are responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment. Electricians must understand state and local building codes like the National Electric Code® and be able to read technical diagrams. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills, including an understanding of the electrical trade, the National Electrical Code®, and more to prepare for entry-level careers in this growing field. After completing this program, learners will have the opportunity to take the leading national/industry-recognized certification exam(s) essential to entry-level employment in this fast-growing field, including the OSHA Course Completion Card for 10-Hour Course for Electrical. Must be 18 years or older to enroll.
